LAKE TAHOE + 2 GHOST TOWNS TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP 2023

When visiting Lake Tahoe, Mark Twain said “As it lay there with the shadows of the mountains brilliantly photographed upon its surface, I thought it must surely be the fairest picture the whole earth affords.”  We agree.

Our Lake Tahoe + 2 Ghost Towns Photography Workshop is a great workshop for growth in your photography, no matter where you start.  From beginner to seasoned, everyone leaves a better photographer [and with great shots].

We keep the attendance boutique-style at 8 people max and we all stay together in a beautiful home in South Lake Tahoe at the base of Heavenly Ski Run.   This allows for community and home cooked meals.  We serve you well so you have time to do photography things and rest.

PRIME SHOOT LOCATIONS

Shoot locations include  Emerald Bay, Vikingholm Castle, Cave Rock, Sand Harbor Beach, Bodie Ghost Town and Fort Churchill Ghost Town at NIGHT for night skies, slow shutter work and ghosting during the FULL MOON [no kidding].

BALANCED DAYS MATTER

The NMP workshops balance the commitment it takes to be at the best locations during optimum light, the teaching that precedes each shoot, the energy recovery time with [home cooked] meals provided in between and time to cull + critique images as a group.

TEACHING + CRITIQUE – PERSONALIZED ATTENTION

All workshops are taught and conducted by me.  I offer pre-shoot set up lectures for camera settings, gear and composition and real time help and guidance on location to all who ask.  Some people know their equipment, others are new to digital photography and have many questions.  There is no such thing as too many questions!  This is the workshop to pick for growth no matter where you start.

After each shoot, there is time allotted to cull images and present a couple for each group critique.  Five days of shoots = five lessons, five critiques.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

exposure – ISO, aperture, shutter, histogram

lens choices, polarizing & neutral density filters

composition & perspective visual lessons; shooting for black & white conversion
